Logging & Timber Harvesting in New Hampshire & Southern Maine
Taylor Tree Service operates a small-scale logging and timber harvesting operation for properties with sufficient tree volume. In situations where a site contains enough usable timber, the value of harvested logs can offset the cost of felling, processing, and hauling. In some cases, this allows for tree removal at no cost to the landowner — and occasionally with payment, depending on timber quality and market conditions.
This service applies only to larger, wooded properties and should be viewed as a logging operation rather than residential tree removal.
Site Condition & Cleanup Expectations
Logging is not a full-service cleanup. While logs are removed, brush, slash, and non-merchantable material remain on site and are typically piled within the work area. Timber prices do not support complete cleanup as part of a harvest operation.
This option is best suited for landowners who are comfortable with a logging-style outcome, plan further development, or are willing to handle cleanup themselves. Additional cleanup services like Forestry Mulching can be provided separately if desired.
Serving New Hampshire & Southern Maine
We provide logging and timber harvesting services throughout New Hampshire and Southern Maine. Availability depends on site conditions, timber quality, and market factors, all of which are reviewed before work begins
Request a Logging Evaluation
If you believe your property may qualify for logging or harvesting, Contact Taylor Tree Service for an evaluation. We’ll assess the site and explain whether harvesting is feasible before any work is scheduled.
When Tree Removal May Be Free
Tree removal through logging is only feasible when a property meets specific requirements. In general, sites must include:
40 or more trees measuring 16 inches diameter or larger
Trees that can be felled whole using traditional methods
Adequate access for equipment and log trucking
Sufficient timber value to support the operation
Each property is evaluated individually to determine whether logging is practical and economically viable.
How Logging-Based Tree Removal Works
Trees are felled, processed into logs, and hauled from the site. Merchantable timber is sold to offset the cost of the operation. Because this is a production-based process, efficiency and access are critical factors in determining feasibility.
This approach allows usable material to be recovered while keeping costs down, but it is not intended to provide finish-grade results.
